würth elektronic ics - waldzimmern
In Waldzimmern, in the middle of the idyllic Hohenloher Country, the "digital heart" of Würth Electronics ICS has been beating since 2014. Founded in 1984 in the field of electromechanical assemblies, the new building now brings together five different companies, which were previously active at different locations, efficiently under one roof. The Stuttgart architectural office MDM designed a three-storey, elegant building for production and administration that blends harmoniously into the gentle hilly landscape. The client also attached particular importance to an appropiate ineraction with nature. After all, the foundation stone of the Würth Group was laid many years ago in this region.
In the glazed entrance hall, the ultra-modern data centre greets to the visitors representative and inviting. Another focus of the planning was to construct the builing accordingto the most energetically innovative standards. INOCLAD Engineering supplied for the present construction project, in which for about two hundred and fifty employees friendly and modern workplace were created, the entire transparent building shell like the two-storey entrance facade (mullion-transom construction) with the draft lobby as well as the window strips.
