building extension of the ludwigsburg district office
In 2008 the extension of the Ludwigsburg District Office was completed. Little by little it became clear that the required space for offices could not be covered with the new building. A second building that looks very much like the original new building is currently under construction. The facade elements are produced, supplied and assembled by INOCLAD Engineering.
Thanks to the sensitive design by the Kubeneck architectural office, the two modern buildings blend harmoniously into the existing, partially listed environment of the eastern city of Ludwigsburg. This is achieved by incorporating existing structures of the city in a modified form into the design of the new buildings. The design follows the specifications of the orthogonal ground plan of the baroque arban structure. Buildings are created which are compressed and lie like solitaires in the grounds. In addition the old barracks buildings in the surrounding area for example are abstracted and reinterpreted. The individual floors of the buildings are slightly contrasting in colour.
At first glance, the use of metal mesh makes them appear strict and closed. However, the sun and the surrounding brick buildings are reflected in them, which gives the buildings a lively, interesting effect. In the second new building, the patio is not covered and remains open. INOCLAD Engineering will install fibre-cement platess in this area.
