New hospital building of the Main-Taunus Clinic in Hofheim
The new building of the Hofheim Clinic was handed over to the clinics by the general contractor VAMED Health GmbH in autumn 2016 after a construction period of four years. INOCLAD Engineering supplied a total of 5,100 m2 of fibre-cement plates for the construction project, which was realised in two stages during ongoing operation. The rainscreen cladding which was installed is also known as the energy-saving facade.
The new building replaces the old building from 1905 at the previous location and was constructed in two phases. Designed by HDR TMK Architects, the complex consists of four pavilions, each with three floors and fa plinth that connects them all. In pavilion 1, 3 and 4, which were constructed in the first construction phase, the Clinic for Pneumology and General Internal Medicine, the Stroke Centre, the Cardiac Catheter Laboratory and the Chest Pain Outpatient Clinic for Cardiovascular Diseases were relocated.
In Pavilion 2, which was realized in the second step, were moved in the sleep laboratory and the psychiatry. At the heart of teh new hospital is an open, large entrance hall with cafeteria. The way to the wards of the Geriatric Clinic, the pneumological-internal clinic, the sleep laboratories and the psychiatry leads via an architecturally striking staircase and via elvators. This also takes you to the top floor of the private ward for psychiatric and psychosomatic patients. From up there you have a wonderful view over the old town of Hofheim and the Kapellenberg on the opposite side.
